This should be 'household waste'

The word you need is 'misuse'

This should be 'still remains'

This would be clearer as 'old papers should be collected separately from plastic containers, such as yoghurt pots, whilst the remains of food can be used in the garden.'

You need the adverb form here, and not the adjective, i.e. 'sensibly'. As an alternative, you could say 'responsibly'.

Do you mean something like: 'raise public awareness by launching an environmental campaign' or 'enforce new environmental regulations'? I'm not sure.

This could be something like: ''and in particular litter''.

This could be expressed as: ''But, even worse, is their habit of dropping litter''.

This could be: ''to the problem of pollution''.

As above this should be: ''misuse''.

It would be nice to finish with at least one or two concluding sentences in order to round off your report. You could, for example, comment on what you think or hope will happen in the future.
