About Part 2 Open Cloze
You will read a short text which has 15 gaps. For each gap you have to fill in the missing word. In the exam you transfer your answer to a special answer sheet. Part 2 tests your knowledge of grammatical structure.

1. Pronouns
The missing word is sometimes a pronoun such as 'you', 'her', 'she'. Try this exercise to see how well you can identify them:

2. Relative pronouns
Words like 'that', 'which', 'who' are often the missing word.

3. Articles/Determiners
Articles, 'a', 'the' and determiners like 'much', 'many', 'all', 'enough' etc. are often required.

5 Adverbs and Conjunctions
Linking words 'however', 'yet' etc. and adverbs 'barely' 'often' will sometimes be the word you are looking for.

You may find that either the verb or the preposition of a phrasal
verb is gapped.

7 Noun/Verb collocations
You will sometimes find that the missing word collocates very
strongly with another word.

Dos and don'ts
Read
the title and text through before you start filling in the
missing words. Make sure your spelling is correct or you won't
get a mark.
