Introduction

Writing Paper: Part 2
Task type: Letter of application

In this issue:
Get a model answer for the letter of application from the public Flo-Joe site in week 1 of Series 2. Written by our writing expert, Fiona Joseph, it shows you the kind of standard to aim for in the exam. But remember that this model answer is mainly for guidance on how to organise your writing and which useful phrases to use, but not to limit your imagination.

Suggested lesson:
  1. Read through the writing task and marking criteria to make sure you understand the question fully.
  2. Set aside 40-45 minutes to write your answer, or if you're short of time, just write a good plan with all the points you would make.
  3. Compare your answer with the model answer and write down any comments or phrases that you think would be useful.
  4. Put all of your notes into a file and look through them regularly.
