Set phrases ('have a look' x 'draw your attention to') are one way in which formal and informal language differs. There are several more features to remember:
- Contractions, idiomatic phrases and missing words out ('See you later') are often found in informal English.
- Inversion (Should you ...), the passive, and understatement ('rather disappointed' instead of 'very angry') are often found in formal language.
