Being able to write the same thing using different words and expressions is a very useful skill and shows your ability to express yourself in English. Try the following exercises to practise.

Questions

Here are some sentences about holidays.
For each question, complete the second sentence so that it means the same as the first.
Use no more than three words.

1. I've never been to America.

Were there any questions above that you got wrong? Learn any new patterns you find. The best way to do this is to use them in sentences that mean something to you. For example, in question 5 we had this pattern:
My friend suggested travelling by train.
My friend said 'If I were you I would travel by train'.


Use these patterns in sentences of your own. For example:
