It's very important to look for key words when you try a PET Reading Part 1 practice test because these words will help you choose the correct answer. For example, in the questions above, the key words are:1) 'pick-up' (the tickets need collecting). 2) 'out of order' (the lift isn't working). 3) 'get ready' (prepare the dinner). 4) 'customers' and 'only' (just the people who use the shop). 5) 'until further notice' (the cafe is closed until you are told it's open again). When you're trying a PET Reading Part 1 practice test, look out for key words like these. And when you've finished the test, keep a record of any new key words you find.
